Y en \u00e1reas de Recursos Humanos, no es rara. Pasa con frecuencia: un nuevo ingreso llega sin su n\u00famero de seguro social. O un trabajador con a\u00f1os en la empresa necesita hacer un tr\u00e1mite con Infonavit y no encuentra su NSS. Y sin ese dato, el sistema no camina.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>El N\u00famero de Seguridad Social (NSS) es mucho m\u00e1s que una clave administrativa. Es la puerta de entrada a todo el sistema de seguridad social en M\u00e9xico. Va desde el historial de semanas cotizadas, el acceso a servicios m\u00e9dicos, pasando por Afore, Infonavit y pensiones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Para la empresa, no tenerlo claro puede significar desde retrasos en el alta hasta problemas en auditor\u00edas. Es permanente, no se repite y queda ligado a la persona toda la vida. Desde el punto de vista pr\u00e1ctico, este n\u00famero:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Registra las cotizaciones del trabajador<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Se usa para acceder a servicios m\u00e9dicos del IMSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Permite consultar aportaciones a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/afore-que-es-y-para-que-sirve\/\"><span>Afore<\/span><\/a><span> y puntos en <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/infonavit\/\"><span>INFONAVIT<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Sirve para tr\u00e1mites de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/pension\/\"><span>pensi\u00f3n<\/span><\/a><span>, incapacidades, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/jubilacion\/\"><span>jubilaci\u00f3n<\/span><\/a><span> y m\u00e1s<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Desde la empresa, el NSS permite realizar:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Altas y bajas en el sistema del IMSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Pagos correctos en el <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/aspectos-legales\/stps\/\"><span>SUA<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Registro de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/que-es-nomina\/\"><span>n\u00f3mina<\/span><\/a><span> ante el <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/sat\/\"><span>SAT<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Consultas y validaciones con INFONAVIT y Afore<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Sin embargo, el problema surge cuando un trabajador no sabe si ya tiene NSS. Eso ocurre m\u00e1s seguido de lo que parece, sobre todo en personas j\u00f3venes o que tuvieron un empleo informal antes. Y cuando se genera un nuevo n\u00famero sin verificar si ya existe, puede causar duplicidades. Eso complica todo: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/semanas-cotizadas\/\"><span>semanas cotizadas<\/span><\/a><span> partidas, aportaciones separadas y confusi\u00f3n en su historial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Por eso, antes de generar uno nuevo, es clave saber si ya existe y est\u00e1 correcto. Y ah\u00ed es donde entra la importancia de aprender a extraer el n\u00famero de seguro social personal, de forma clara y sin errores.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>\u00bfC\u00f3mo se compone el NSS?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>El NSS est\u00e1 compuesto por 11 d\u00edgitos, y cada uno tiene un sentido.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Primeros dos d\u00edgitos: <\/b><span>Subdelegaci\u00f3n del IMSS donde se hizo el registro<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Siguientes dos:<\/b><span> A\u00f1o de alta en el IMSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Dos m\u00e1s:<\/b><span> A\u00f1o de nacimiento del trabajador<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Cuatro d\u00edgitos \u00fanicos asignados por el IMSS<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>\u00daltimo d\u00edgito:<\/b><span> Verificador<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es \u00fatil conocer esto en <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/hr-management\/recursos-humanos-en-una-empresa\/\"><span>Recursos Humanos<\/span><\/a><span> (RRHH)? Porque ayuda a detectar errores y duplicidades. Por ejemplo:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Cuando un trabajador presenta dos NSS distintos<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Si el a\u00f1o de nacimiento no coincide<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>O si la subdelegaci\u00f3n registrada no es coherente con su ubicaci\u00f3n laboral<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Detectar esto a tiempo permite evitar registros duplicados y pagos mal asignados. Adem\u00e1s, si se recibe un NSS con inconsistencias, es mejor verificar antes de dar de alta a la persona en <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/idse\/\"><span>IDSE<\/span><\/a><span> o SUA. Eso evita errores costosos despu\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>\u00bfPara qu\u00e9 sirve el NSS?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Al trabajador lo ayuda en:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Acceso a servicios m\u00e9dicos en el IMSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Registro de cotizaciones y semanas trabajadas<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Consultar su situaci\u00f3n ante Afore<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Solicitar cr\u00e9ditos de vivienda con Infonavit<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Tr\u00e1mites de pensi\u00f3n, jubilaci\u00f3n e incapacidades<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Asimismo a la empresa la ayuda:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Alta patronal del trabajador en tiempo y forma<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Validaci\u00f3n de su afiliaci\u00f3n ante el IMSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Registro correcto de cuotas en SUA<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Vinculaci\u00f3n con el INFONAVIT y Afore<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Cumplimiento ante auditor\u00edas del IMSS o SAT<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Es decir, el NSS permite conectar a la persona con todo el sistema formal de seguridad social. Y a la vez, protege a la empresa frente a posibles sanciones por registros err\u00f3neos o tard\u00edos. Ambas oficiales, seguras y gratuitas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span>Opci\u00f3n 1: En l\u00ednea<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span>Ideal para quienes tienen acceso a internet y quieren hacer el tr\u00e1mite r\u00e1pido. Pasos:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Primero, ingresar al portal del IMSS:<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.imss.gob.mx\/\"> <span>https:\/\/www.imss.gob.mx\/<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Ahora, ir a la secci\u00f3n \u201cN\u00famero de Seguro Social\u201d<\/span><span><br \/>\n<\/span><span>Tener a la mano:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/aspectos-legales\/curp\/\"><span>CURP<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Correo electr\u00f3nico vigente<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Despu\u00e9s, ingresar el c\u00f3digo de verificaci\u00f3n<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Por \u00faltimo, el sistema genera el NSS y lo env\u00eda al correo electr\u00f3nico<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span>Desde ah\u00ed, se puede:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Descargar la tarjeta NSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Imprimir el documento<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Guardarlo en PDF<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Recomendaci\u00f3n para RRHH: acompa\u00f1ar al trabajador durante este tr\u00e1mite, especialmente si no est\u00e1 familiarizado con plataformas digitales.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span>Opci\u00f3n 2: Presencial<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span>Requiere acudir a una <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/aspectos-legales\/subdelegacion-imss\/\"><span>Subdelegaci\u00f3n del IMSS<\/span><\/a><span> o una Oficina Auxiliar de Afiliaci\u00f3n y Cobranza. \u00bfD\u00f3nde hacer la cita?<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Entrar a<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.imss.gob.mx\/directorio\"> <span>http:\/\/www.imss.gob.mx\/directorio<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Buscar por entidad, municipio o tipo de unidad<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Confirmar direcci\u00f3n, servicios y si se requiere cita previa<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span>Es \u00fatil si:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>El sistema en l\u00ednea no reconoce al trabajador<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Hay duplicidad de NSS<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Se requiere corregir datos<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span>Documentos necesarios para tr\u00e1mite presencial<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span>Para mayores de edad:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/aspectos-legales\/acta-de-nacimiento\/\"><span>Acta de nacimiento<\/span><\/a><span> certificada (original)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Identificaci\u00f3n oficial vigente con foto (INE, pasaporte, c\u00e9dula, cartilla, etc.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>CURP impresa<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Poder notarial, si el tr\u00e1mite lo hace un representante<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span>Para menores de edad:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Acta de nacimiento<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>CURP<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Documento escolar con foto y n\u00famero SEP (credencial, certificado, boleta)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>C\u00e9dula de identidad de <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/aspectos-legales\/renapo\/\"><span>RENAPO<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<h3><span>Importante:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>En este sentido, todos los documentos deben estar en buen estado<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No se aceptan tachaduras, manchas, enmendaduras o documentos da\u00f1ados<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Llevar originales y copias<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Verificar que todos los datos coincidan entre s\u00ed<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Desde RRHH, es recomendable revisar los documentos antes de enviar al trabajador a la oficina del IMSS, para evitar rechazos.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>\u00bfQui\u00e9nes pueden realizar este tr\u00e1mite?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Puede hacerlo la persona interesada directamente o un representante legal (con poder notarial v\u00e1lido). Este tr\u00e1mite no crea una relaci\u00f3n directa con el IMSS. Es decir:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No da de alta autom\u00e1ticamente al trabajador<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No genera cobertura m\u00e9dica por s\u00ed solo<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>Solo entrega el n\u00famero identificador oficial<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>El <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/alta-imss\/\"><span>alta IMSS<\/span><\/a><span> se realiza por separado, una vez que el trabajador es contratado y la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/comienza-tu-empresa\/guia-para-crear-una-empresa\/\"><span>empresa<\/span><\/a><span> lo registra formalmente. Por eso, tener NSS no significa estar afiliado todav\u00eda. Desde RRHH, conviene explicar esto claramente para evitar confusiones o falsas expectativas.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span>Un recordatorio importante<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>El NSS es la base de toda relaci\u00f3n entre el trabajador y el IMSS. Y desde el momento en que una persona entra a laborar formalmente, ya tiene derecho a la <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/nomina\/seguridad-social\/\"><span>seguridad social<\/span><\/a><span>. Pero para que ese derecho se active, la empresa debe contar con su NSS y hacer el alta correspondiente.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Si el n\u00famero no existe o est\u00e1 incorrecto:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No se puede registrar al trabajador<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No se generan aportaciones<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>No se activa cobertura m\u00e9dica<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>La empresa puede recibir observaciones o multas<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Por eso, la verificaci\u00f3n del NSS debe ser un paso obligatorio en el proceso de ingreso. Y si la persona no lo tiene, debe gestionarse lo antes posible. Adem\u00e1s, conviene resguardarlo correctamente en su <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/runahr.com\/mx\/recursos\/hr-management\/expediente\/\"><span>expediente<\/span><\/a><span> laboral, tanto en f\u00edsico como en digital.
