About Belvo

Belvo is a fintech company that offers an API so businesses in Latin America can access financial information in a simple, fast, and standard way. It was founded in 2020 by Pablo Viguera and Oriol Tintore, after they saw a clear gap in financial infrastructure while working in fintech and expanding from Europe into Mexico. What began as a practical answer to a real problem soon became one of the main open finance infrastructure platforms in the region.

Today, Belvo works with leading fintech companies across Latin America, and hundreds of developers use its API every day to build financial products and services. Running teams in Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil at the same time means moving fast, following different rules, and keeping many details in order. Aurora Lastres puts it clearly: “Before Runa, processing payroll was a long, fragmented, and stressful process. Every month required coordination with accountants and manual adjustments that made us lose many hours and affected our ability to focus on talent strategy.” As Belvo grew even more across countries, manual payroll started to feel too slow for the business.

 

What aspects were affecting their payroll?

Before Runa, Belvo’s payroll process had too many scattered steps and too much manual work.
